Urban Soles Outpost opened its doors in late 2007 in the historic Heights' area of Houston. As the Heights only independently owned shoe and accessory store, Urban Soles is staffed and operated by its owners Ingeborg (Inge) Feagin and Shannon Riley.With hard-to-fit feet, Inge developed an interest in footwear many years ago. She was always in search of the perfect shoe, but had trouble finding retailers who were knowledgable about the products they sold. Consequently, she decided to open a store that sold much more than shoes. She wanted to offer service. "We actually know something about the footwear we sell," said Inge. "That's important to me and I firmly believe it's important to our customers."
Together the owners personally select every shoe. "In fact, between the two of us, we actually wear every shoe in our store, which provides valuable information that we wouldn't otherwise have," said Shannon.
Both owners agree that independent retailing is fun. "We get to know our customers, which is really what this is all about," said Inge. "We want to be part of the community, so even though we're new, we hope people will support us," said Shannon.

Customers can use the carrier of their choice to return a purchase. Return shipping costs are the customers responsibility.
